  1. My account is suspended. Why? 

    There are two possible reasons: either you forgot to renew your account or it was suspended due to technical reason.What to do?

    • check in your client area if you have an unpaid invoice and pay it;

    • find the ticket related to account suspension, read it, take measures to fix the issue and update the ticket when done.

  2. Can I have my own custom error pages?

  3. Yes. What you need to do is to create an HTML page, name it 404.html and put to a public_html directory.

    If 404.html page is located in a directory of an addon domain the following directive should be added to .htacess file:

    ErrorDocument 404

    404 custom page would be valid for the domain whose directory contains .htaccess file.

  4. What is the size limit for the Mail Box?

    You can allow any amount of web space to your email account as long as it is below your web hosting plan’s web space quota.

  5. Can I work on MySQL through a remote location? 

    This feature is supported only on VPS and dedicated servers with us.

  6. What Operating System does WebHostingBuzz use on the servers?

    We use CentOS Linux and CloudLinux Operating systems on our shared servers. Clients can install their own choice of Linux operating system on VPS (CentOS, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Gentoo) and any OS including Windows Server 2008/2012 on dedicated servers or Xen VPS.

  7. What version of PHP does WebHostingBuzz use?

    We support both php 4+ and php 5+ .It depends on the server your account is hosted on.

  8. What version of Apache does WebHostingBuzz use?

    Currently we use Apache 2+. This version is for reference only because we keep updating the software as needed.

  9. What version of MySQL does WebHostingBuzz use?

    We use MySQL 5+.

  10. Is RAM limited on your shared hosting plans?

    According to our AUP: No script or piece of software may use 25% or more of system resources for 60 seconds or longer.System resources also include RAM, CPU, MySQL (the number of queries and the time period, during which one query is being performed)

  11. Can I use Telnet as file transfer protocol?

    We use SSH only. However, VPS/dedicated server can be configured as you like.

  12. What type of email authentication do you use?

    We use SMTP authentication. This option must be checked in Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings of your email client for you to be able to send email. SMTP authentication must be also enabled for those who use php mail forms. Use localhost as a hostname.

  13. Do you allow cgi scripts?

    Yes, we do.

  14. Can I use SFTP?

    SFTP can be used on all our servers, however, shell (SSH) should be enabled first. Secure FTP connection is established through the same port (47926 on shared/reseller servers) and SSH protocol is used as an underlying layer for this.

  15. How can I add SSL certificate to my site?

    You can find all available certificates we sell here

    You can order it through a ticket to the Billing department.

  16. How can I upgrade php version?

    You can do this using PHP selector in your cPanel

    or manually by adding the following line to the beginning of your .htaccess file:

    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php53 .php

  17. What permissions should I use while uploading files?

    Files should be uploaded with permissions 644 and the directories with 755. If you upload files with permissions 777, they will not be processed by the server because of security reasons.

  18. Can I add MX record on my own?

    Yes, you can add only one MX record. You need to login to your cPanel – Mail – MX entry. If you need more MX records you need to submit a ticket to the Support department and we‘ll assist you with that.

  19. Where should I upload my files: to ‘www’ or public_html?

    Please note that ‘www‘ is just a symbolic link to the public_html directory. Thus, you should use public_html to upload files to the server.

  20. Can I use my own webmail client?

    Yes, you can, on the condition that it uses port 80. We offer Squirrel, Horde and Roundcube.

  21. Is it possible to access site via IP?

    It is possible to get access to a site using IP only (http://111.111.111) if IP is dedicated and on servers with cPanel version starting with 11.25

  22. Do you allow web disk?

    No, we do not allow web disk on shared and reseller accounts because of security reasons and it‘s resource intensive nature. Web disk can be used on the VPS and Dedicated plans.

  23. Can I use ASP on my site?

    ASP can be used on Windows-based servers only.

  24. Will you help me transfer my account to you?

    Yes, we will if your account is cPanel-based or if you have one with Heart Internet

  25. Do you have any free trial period?

    We offer 45 days (30 days for VPS) money back guarantee for all packages except dedicated servers or dedicated IPs.

  26. How many emails can I send?

    200 e-mails /hour/domain - shared/reseller

    unlimited e-mails - VPS/dedicated servers

  27. Can I get additional bandwidth or disk space for extra fee?

    Our packages are not customizable; the only option is to upgrade the account.

  28. How is security granted on your servers?

    We have lfd/csf firewall rules installed for bruteforce protection, SpamAssassin, MailFoundry and custom filters installed on the servers to block spam, ClamAV for antivirus protection etc.

    We do backups on a daily basis and N+1 redundancy is applied to all available systems, meaning that each of the crucial components necessary for the server‘s uptime, including HDDs, has at least one independent backup component.

  29. Do you support exec?

    We do not support exec for security reason (and this cannot be enabled on request).

    exec is a php command which allows to execute an external program.

  30. Do you support custom php.ini and other PHP extensions?

    Yes, custom php.ini is supported as well as other PHP extensions.

  31. Is mod_rewrite enabled on your servers?

    mod_rewrite is enabled on all our servers by default.

    "RewriteEngine On" should be placed in your .htaccess file.

  32. How do I log in to cPanel/WHM?

    cPanel login: http://serverIP:2082, https://serverIP:2083

    or yourdomain/cpanel once the domain is pointed to our name servers.

    WHM login: http://serverIP:2086, https://serverIP:2087 or yourdomain/whm

  33. How do I log in to WebMail?

  34. I cannot login to cPanel/WHM

    You can reset your cPanel password anytime from your Client Area. Please login at and go to Client Area > Services > My Services > View Details > Change Password, enter a new password, confirm it and save the changes.

  35. Google says I have a virus

    It’s highly recommended to download your account’s content and check it with your local PC antivirus or you can submit a ticket to the Support dept and request to scan your data with server antivirus. We can also restore your account from the backup if needed. As soon as you make sure that your site is no longer infected, please contact Google to find out how to remove your site from the list of non-trusted.

  36. What is the maximum size of the email that can be sent?

    50 MB, it is a standard limit and can’t be changed

  37. How to enable/disable features for a resold account?


  38. How do I provide web hosting services to my clients or friends?

    To resell hosting, you need to order a reseller package, VPS or a dedicated server.

  39. Can I run an online store by using a shopping cart software?

    Yes, you can and we provide many free shopping cart scripts for you to use. You can even install them with one click of a button. You would, however, need to use a shopping cart that is based on PHP scripting language and MySQL database software.

  40. Does WebHostingBuzz support JSP?

    JSP is not supported on our shared/reseller servers. The recommended package is a dedicated server with 4GB of RAM min; however, you can start with VPS4.

  41. Can I do audio/video streaming?

    You can stream on our VPS and dedicated servers.

  42. Do you provide web design services?

    We provide Softaculus auto-installer with lots of scripts, which enables you to install blog, forum, guest book, etc in one click and apply any template you wish. We have Wordpress, Magento, Joomla, Prestashop, etc. Softaculous is provided in each hosting package we offer on our website (Softaculous should be ordered additionally with VPS and dedicated servers).

  43. How can I test the upload speed?

    The average upload speed is 100Mbps per server, equally distributed between uploaders.

    The only way to test the upload speed is to order a hosting package that meets your requirements and upload your data. If you unsatisfied with the speed provided, you can get your money back for the package you ordered within 45 days from the signup date.

  44. Do you allow file sharing websites such as rapidshare, zshare etc?

    According to our AUP, such websites are prohibited due to their resource intensive nature.

  45. Do you support Front Page extensions?

    FrontPage support has been discontinued on our servers.

  46. Do your servers support phpSuExec?

    Yes, they do. FYI: phpSuExec is an Apache module offering advanced security for PHP scripts.

  47. What is the difference between Comodo Positive and Essential SSL certificates?

    The difference between Positive SSL and Essential SSL certificates are provided site seals (a free graphical image which can be placed anywhere on your site to show your visitors that your site is secure). Also Essential SSL has a special chain which is recognized by most of the mobile browsers.

  48. How do I split addon domains to separate accounts?

  • Back up the e-Mail accounts.
  • Back up the data of the website(public_html and databases)
  • Create new cPanel accounts for the addon domains.
  • Re-upload the content.
  • Re-create the email accounts and restore the emails.
